Governor DeSantis launched Florida's official America250FL campaign featuring the "14th Colony Heritage Sites" road trip, a golf trail with commemorative flags on the 14th hole, the Founders Museum at the State Capitol, a student art and essay contest, and events at historic state parks across Florida.

A museum exhibit in the lower level of the State Capitol honoring America's founding. Includes brochures, a children's activity book, and historical artifacts. Free admission during Capitol hours.
14th Colony Heritage Sites Road Trip
All Year 2026 • Statewide
A curated collection of Florida's historic sites and state parks highlighting the state's Revolutionary, territorial, and early statehood history. Sites include Fort Mose in St. Augustine, Fort Zachary Taylor in Key West, San Marcos de Apalache in St. Marks, and more. Period reenactors at select locations throughout the year.
America 250 Florida License Plate

Smithsonian 250th Festival
June 18 – July 12, 2026 • National Mall, Washington, D.C.
An expanded month-long festival transforming the National Mall into a celebration of America's cultural heritage. Activities will highlight diverse communities, cultural practices, and perspectives from across the country.

The Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum completes its 8-year renovation and reopens all remaining galleries in time for the 250th anniversary and the museum's own 50th anniversary.
Kennedy Center — National Scrollathon Exhibition
May 26 – September 7, 2026 • Washington, D.C.
A massive communal art installation from over 250,000 participants across the United States. Participants share one word expressing their hopes and dreams for America, assembled into a visual artwork spanning the Kennedy Center campus. Plus "Sounds of US" curated performances asking "What does America sound like?"
National Mall 250: Our Monumental Moment

A year-long program of commemorative events, an expanded volunteer corps, and a new digital platform inviting visitors to curate tours, learn civics, and experience the National Mall as the nation's greatest living history classroom.
